Merchandising Math II Fall 2025

As part of a simulated buyer and allocation project, I took on the role of assistant buyer for men’s apparel for the Fall 2025 season at a department store chain with locations in California, Texas, New York, and Florida. Using Excel throughout the entire project, I analyzed sales data, reviewed last season’s style reports, and researched upcoming fashion trends to make buying decisions. Based on regional differences and previous performance, I made tailored product assortment recommendations for each store. The project also required aligning product allocation with financial goals, ensuring that inventory investments supported revenue targets while minimizing excess stock. This hands-on experience gave me valuable insight into the decision-making process behind merchandising, planning, and data-driven retail strategies.
